Beijing Miyun Industrial Development Zone is located at the south side of Miyun reservoir, with a planned area of 8.4sq.km, close adjoins Beijing-Chengde Expressway, #101 National Road, and Beijing-Chengde Railway, is 65km from Beijing downtown, 40km from the Capital Airport, 160km from Tianjin's Tanggu Port, 3km from Beijing-Chengde Expressway, less than 3km from the railway station. There is a stretch of flat land, which elevation basically is between 60 and 64m; there is a topsoil of 1.5 to about 4.5m thick, and most of the land is comprehensively evaluated as Category II in engineering geology; the groundwater table is 2.5 to 6.0m under the ground, and is one of main drinking water sources of Beijing; atomospheric quality there maintains at a level better than Class II in the national standard all the year round.
Supporting infrastructures in the development zone are complete.
Road: A road network consisting of main trunk roads, trunk roads, and branches has been completed in the zone.
Water supply: There is a circular water supply pipe network, which may supply 38,400tons per day, in the zone.
Drainage: Rainwater and sewage may be separately drained, and a sewage treatment plant with a daily capacity of 45,000tons has been completed in the zone, rainwater is drained into Chaobai River via in-zone pipelines.
Power supply: There are an 110kV transformer stations with a capacity of 8kVA, which may supply power by two-circuits.
Heat supply: There are 4 large-size heat supply centers, with total heat supply capacity pf 150tons/hr, may supply heat in a centralized mode.
Natural gas: There is a circular natural gas pipe network, with a supply pressure of 0.8Mpa.
Communication: There is a telecommunication sub-office, equipped with special lines, perfect wireless network, and optical fiber communication network and CTV all are available.
BMIDZ has had a good industrial foundation, is one of "Hi-Tech Industrial Bases of Institutions of High Leaning" granted by the Ministry of Education, "Beijing Lushui Hi-Tech Industrial Base" approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology, one of "Beijing Hi-Tech Fruit Incubation Industrialization Bases" set by Beijing Commission of Science and Technology. 138 enterprises have entered the zone, and initially formed three large dominant industries including auto spare parts manufacturer now.
